Homeschooling from FLC.
Maybe you work remotely, part-time or full-time, or maybe you just need some support on this homeschool journey. Homeschoolers can now spend the day at FLC! Parents provide the curriculum. Learners are to be self-motivated, self-starting, good readers and independent workers. The teachers will support them as needed. The students will aim to accomplish their academic work before lunch and can then join all the FLC enrichment classes or can pursue their own learning goals.
Full-Day Homeschooler Schedule
How is FLC different than private or public school?
Learners are in a “class” of mixed ages and abilities.
There are a variety of seating options ranging from a chair and table, an over-sized chair to wobble cushions and rocking chairs.
They have freedom to switch work locations. Learning outside in a chair, at the picnic table or on a rug in the sunshine is perfectly acceptable.
We have a large space for whole group learning and tables for individual and group projects.
Teachers (facilitators) see the parent as their child’s first and most important teacher and we are here to provide insight on daily activities.
Enrichment Classes and project based tasks are the activities in the afternoon.
Teachers are able to dip in and support the learner one-on-one based on their needs and strengths
We keep an ongoing dialogue with the parents concerning their child’s progress and goals.
